Petropoulos Thrasy

Petropoulos

Deputy Editor

Thrasy began life in journalism in England in 1996 as a sports reporter for BBC Online and, from 1997, for The Times and Sunday Times. He moved to Greece in 2005 and, the following year, began working for the English-language weekly Athens News as a news and features writer and, between 2009-2013, as managing editor. During his time in Greece, he has reported on some of the country's most devastating wildfires (August 2007) and riots (December 2008) in living memory and, of course, the ongoing debt crisis. He has appeared as a commentator on Greek affairs on radio and television programmes across Europe, America and Australia, and – his personal favourite – on Radio Jamaica. Thrasy left EnetEnglish in June 2013.
