VPRC gives Syriza a 2.5% lead over New Democracy VPRC gives Syriza a 2.5% lead over New Democracy An opinion poll conducted by VPRC for the left-leaning radio station Sto Kokkino gives main opposition Syriza a 2.5% lead over ruling New Democracy.

The extreme-right Golden Dawn remains in third place in voters’ preference, while the communist KKE gains ground after appointing Dimitris Koutsoumpas as general secretary.

Specifically, in an estimated voting preference, Syriza garners 29.5%, ND 27%, Golden Dawn 13%, Pasok 7%, KKE 7%, Independent Greeks 6%, Democratic Left 4.5% and other parties 6%.

To the question who is the most suitable for prime minister, respondents gave ND leader Antonis Samaras 16.6% and Syriza leader Alexis Tsipras 9.1%. 60% of the respondents said "no one".

A Metron Analysis poll published on April 21 in Eleftherotypia on Sunday indicated that parties opposed to the loan agreements with the troika would take 51.9% of the popular vote, compared to the 45.8% they won in June.

That poll gave New Democracy and Syriza 27% and 26.2% of the vote respectively.
