The map, along with hundreds of other items, including fake state ID cards, are now in the hands of special investigators.

It is understood that counterterrorist officers combing the various electronic devices seized during raids on the homes of Golden Dawn leader Nikos Michaloliakos, the party spokesman Ilias Kasidiaris, and MPs Nikos Michos and Giannis Lagos.

On the map, the property marked with a number 2 is the location of a meeting point for immigrants on Tsamadou St, which was damaged in a grenade attack in 2009 by unknown perpetrators.

However, in a statement issued after the incident, the centre said it was referred to a "shadowy fascist murderous attack".

It was not immediately clear who had created the map, which seems not to have been updated for some time.

Police also seized thousands of video and photographic material. Among others, these included images of Nazi wartime executions, propaganda seminars for children, Golden Dawn events, Nazi symbols, guns and knives, some of which appear to have blood on them.

In one, he appears to be shooting a rifle.

Racist documents were also uncovered, including one that claims "more than 66% of black children are born out wedlock. The proportion of them born illegitimate (per capita ) is ten times greater than that of whites."

Counterterrorism officers also managed to recover deleted files from some of the storage devices found. One erased folders was titled "Filth" and it appears to have contained material gathered from five Facebook profiles, including one belonging to a journalist.

'Fancy dress'

Asked to respond to the scenes depicted in the images, two Golden Dawn MPs on Tuesday attempted to portray them as harmless.

One photograph, in which a figure wearing the white gown and hood of the US racist Ku Klux Klan organisation, was taken at a carnival fancy dress party, MP Ilias Papagiotaras claimed.

His colleague Ilias Kasidiaras said there were no laws against what she said was training in the countryside.

"Let them create a law to ban me from exercising so I can become as obese as Venizelos," he said, in a reference to the Pasok leader.
